Woman Killed in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Eastex Freeway near Quitman Street

Houston, Texas (January 1, 2022) – A woman was killed on Friday in a two-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash occurred on December 31, on the Eastex Freeway (Interstate 59) near Quitman Street.

Authorities said the woman was driving northbound on the freeway when her car suddenly stopped and swerved in front of a pickup truck.

The pickup truck then rear-ended the woman’s car.

The woman was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Her name has not been released.

The pickup truck driver was uninjured and stayed at the scene.

Police believe the woman may have had a medical emergency just before the crash. 

The crash closed all multiple lanes of the Eastex Freeway.

The crash remains under investigation.
