68-Year-Old Woman Killed in Navarro County Two-Vehicle Crash on I-45

Navarro County, Texas (June 2, 2020) – According to a local news source, a woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning, about two miles north of the Freestone County line in Navarro County.

The fatal crash happened around 11:15 a.m. May 29, on Interstate Highway 45.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 68-year-old woman was driving a 2018 Honda Accord southbound in the middle lane of the freeway at a very reduced speed. The Honda was then rear-ended by a southbound 2015 Kenworth truck tractor towing a 2012 Stoughton semi-trailer.

The impact caused the Honda to spin off the roadway to the right. It came to a stop partially on the improved shoulder and partially in the lane of travel. The truck came to a stop on the right, improved shoulder.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
