Austin Woman Killed in Lee County Car Accident on Highway 21 near Dime Box
Lee County, Texas (May 30, 2019) – An Austin woman was killed early Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on a Lee County highway, according to the DPS.
The fatal crash occurred about at 1:43 a.m. May 28, on Highway 21 near Dime Box.
Officials said a 2012 Mazda was traveling eastbound on the highway when the driver attempted to take a curve in the road and the car crossed into the westbound lanes where it collided head-on with an 18-wheeler.
A 25-year-old female passenger in the car was killed in the crash. Her name has not been disclosed. The car driver sustained injuries in the crash.
The big rig driver was uninjured in the crash.
The DPS is investigating the crash.
