49-Year-Old Woman Killed in Westlake Pedestrian Accident on Highway 114

Westlake, Texas (December 15, 2020) – A 49-year-old woman was fatally hit by a vehicle Monday morning in Westlake, according to a local news source.

The deadly accident happened around 3:45 a.m., December 14, on Highway 114 near 170.

Police said the woman was walking over the bridge along the highway when she stepped into a traffic lane to walk around an 18-wheeler on the shoulder and was struck by a passing vehicle.

The driver stopped and called 911 after the accident.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The accident closed the highway for a few hours.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
