Zakary Jay King Killed in Parker County Motorcycle Crash on FM 920 at Sharla Smelley Road

Parker County, Texas (October 23, 2020) – One person was killed in a motorcycle crash Wednesday evening in Parker County, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:30 p.m., October 21, at the intersection of FM 920 and Sharla Smelley Road, north of Weatherford.

According to a preliminary investigation, Tommy Earl Dillard, 54, of Weatherford, was driving a Chevrolet pickup towing a trailer eastbound on Sharla Smelley Road and was stopped at the intersection.

The Chevrolet failed to yield the right-of-way while turning left onto FM 920 and struck a southbound Kawasaki motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, Zakary Jay King, 21, of Mineral Wells, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash closed FM 920 for a while.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
