One Airlifted After Pampa Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 70

Pampa, Texas (July 31, 2023) – One person was airlifted Sunday evening following a two-vehicle crash in Pampa, according to the DPS.

The crash happened around 5:00 p.m., July 30, on SH 70, 1/4 mile north of loop 171.

DPS said a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling northbound on SH 70 behind a Ford Expedition.

The Tahoe driver was driving erratically and rear-ended the Expedition, forcing it to side skid and roll over.

The Tahoe ran off the road and landed in a ravine.

The Tahoe driver was airlifted to Northwest Texas Healthcare System in stable condition.

The people in the Expedition sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital by a private vehicle.

DPS says alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
