Keymon Jones Killed in Arlington Two-Vehicle Crash at South Collins Street and East Arbrook Boulevard

Arlington, Texas (June 28, 2022) – A driver was killed in an alleged DUI crash Sunday morning in Arlington, according to the Police Department.

The fatal crash happened at about 10:00 a.m., on June 26, at the intersection of South Collins Street and East Arbrook Boulevard.

Witnesses told the police that Bryan Lizarzaburo Penafiel, 23, was driving his vehicle eastbound on Arbrook Boulevard at a high rate of speed when he allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and slammed into a Ford Focus that was traveling northbound on Collins Street.

The driver of the Ford, Keymon Jones, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the police, Penafiel sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. He was later arrested and booked into Arlington jail on one count of intoxication manslaughter.

Further details regarding the collision were not immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
