Deputy Among Three Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash at Almeda Genoa Road and Telephone Road

Houston, Texas (November 19, 2020) – A Harris County Constable Precinct 8 deputy was among the three people who were injured Monday night in a high-speed chase crash in southeast Houston, according to officials.

The crash happened around 11:40 p.m., November 16, at the intersection of Almeda Genoa Road and Telephone Road.

Police said the constable deputy was in pursuit of a man who was driving a stolen vehicle when the driver ran a red light at the intersection, and the deputy’s vehicle was hit by a Cadillac.

The impact caused the deputy’s cruiser to flip over while the Cadillac went into a car dealership.

The suspect lost control of the vehicle and broke through a fence. The vehicle flipped over, ejecting him.

The deputy, the Cadillac driver, and the suspect sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The suspect will be charged with evading arrest and driving while intoxicated.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons for driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
