One Killed and One Critically Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Southwest Freeway at Fountain View; Diana Monterroza Arrested

Houston, Texas (September 15, 2021) – One person was killed, and another was critically injured early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the police.

The deadly crash happened around 3:15 a.m., September 12, in the 6000 block of Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road at the intersection of Fountain View.

Police said Diana Laura Monterroza, 21, was driving a gray Nissan Altima on the freeway when she ran a red light at the intersection and T-boned an Acura TL that was heading eastbound on Fountain View.

The Acura driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Monterroza was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter. She was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
