One Killed and One Injured in Austin Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 45 near Turnerville Road

Austin, Texas (July 15, 2023) – One person was killed, and another was injured early Friday morning in a fiery crash in Austin, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 2:30 a.m., July 14, on State Highway 45, about two miles west of Turnerville Road.

DPS said a pickup truck and a four-door vehicle collided in the northbound lanes of the highway.

The driver of the four-door vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pickup truck driver was airlifted to an Austin hospital for treatment.

The crash closed northbound SH 45 at Turnerville Road.

No additional information was available.

The crash remains under investigation.
