One Killed and One Injured in Channelview Train Crash at Sheldon Road and Highway 90

Channelview, Texas (November 26, 2020) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a train crash Wednesday evening in Channelview, according to deputies.

The fatal crash happened around 5:00 p.m., November 25, at Sheldon Road and Highway 90.

Deputies said an SUV went around two cars that were stopped at the crossing and was struck by an approaching passenger train.

The railroad arms were activated at the time of the crash.

The SUV driver was airlifted to the hospital in unknown condition.

A passenger in the SUV was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
