1 Killed, 2 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Gulf Freeway in Houston

One Killed, Two Injured in Houston Crash on Gulf Freeway at Beltway 8

Houston, Texas (December 19, 2022) – One person was killed and two other people were injured in a three-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The deadly crash happened at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, December 18, on the Gulf Freeway.

Police said a Chevrolet Suburban was heading southbound on the Gulf Freeway when it collided with a Chevrolet Equinox.

Due to the impact of the collision, both vehicles spun out and collided again for a second time. A pickup also was hit by the Suburban after the previous crash with the Equinox.

The driver of the Equinox was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Equinox sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital.

A passenger in the Suburban also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. Police detained both drivers of the Suburban and the pickup at the crash scene.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
