Leilani Orr and Stephanie Ferrer ID’d as 2 Victims Killed in Reeves County Crash on Highway 20 near MM 19

Reeves County, Texas (November 21, 2022) – Authorities have identified the two people who died early Saturday morning in a multi-vehicle crash in Reeves County as Leilani Ann Orr, 18, of Denton, and Stephanie Ferrer, 44, of Denton.

The deadly crash happened at around 3:29 a.m. Saturday, November 19 on Interstate Highway 20 near MM 19.

According to the authorities, Juan Orta-Gonzalez, 30, of McAllen, was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate Highway 20 when his 2020 Toyota Tacoma collided with a 2015 Toyota Corolla that was traveling westbound.

The Toyota Corolla was then struck by two other vehicles. The driver and passengers of those two vehicles did not suffer any injuries.

Two passengers of the Toyota Corolla, now identified as Orr and Ferrer, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota Corolla was taken to Reeves County Hospital in critical condition.

Orta-Gonzalez who was not injured was placed under arrest for two counts of Intoxicated Manslaughter.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
