One Killed and Two Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Aldine Westfield Road at East Richey Road

Houston, Texas (March 21, 2022) – One person was killed, and two others were injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 12:15 p.m., March 18, in the 20098 block of Aldine Westfield Road at the intersection of East Richey Road.

Police said a red Freightliner tractor-trailer, towing a flatbed trailer, was traveling northbound on Aldine Westfield Road and was turning left to travel westbound on East Richey Road on a green light. A red Chevrolet Cruz ran a red light at the intersection and struck the trailer.

The front passenger of the Chevrolet was taken to Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released. The Chevrolet driver was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. The rear passenger of the Chevrolet was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Freightliner driver was uninjured in the crash.

The police are investigating the crash.
