Lufkin, Texas (November 1, 2021) – One person was killed, and three others were injured on Sunday in a three-vehicle crash in Lufkin, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened on October 31, in the 2000 block of N. Timberland Drive.

Police said a red Ford Mustang was traveling northbound when it crossed four lanes of traffic and was T-boned by a southbound pickup truck. Another southbound truck then rear-ended the other truck that struck the Mustang.

Five people, including the Mustang driver, were taken to the local hospitals where the Mustang driver was pronounced dead. His name has not been released. A juvenile in the pickup that hit the Mustang was later airlifted to an out-of-town hospital.

The crash closed N. Timberland Drive for a while. The southbound traffic was rerouted to Forest Park Boulevard.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
