Griffin Roenn Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Loop 360 in Austin

Griffin Roenn ID’d as Man Killed in Austin Pedestrian Accident on Loop 360 near Courtyard Drive

Austin, Texas (June 29, 2023) – The man who was killed after he was struck by a vehicle on Loop 360 earlier this month in northwest Austin has been identified by the Austin police.

Griffin Frederick Von Roenn, 18, died in the pedestrian crash that happened at around 4:51 a.m. in the 5200 block of North Capital of Texas HWy southbound.

According to the police, Roenn was hit by a sedan that was traveling in the southbound lane near the intersection with Courtyard Drive.

Roenn was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the sedan stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor on the driver’s part.

Anyone with information or who witnessed the crash is asked to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide unit at 512-974-8111.
