1 Killed, 4 Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 16 in Freer

One Killed, Four Airlifted after Freer Crash on Highway 16 and FM 3395

Freer, Texas (July 28, 2022) – One person was killed and four other people were injured in a traffic accident Wednesday afternoon north of Freer, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The deadly crash happened at around 2:07 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, at the intersection of Highway 16 and FM 3395.

DPS said a Lincoln vehicle and a semi-trailer collided at the intersection.

Five people were in the Lincoln. The driver of the Lincoln was pronounced dead at the scene. Two of the passengers in the Lincoln were airlifted while the other two passengers were taken by land ambulance to nearby hospitals.

The driver of the truck was uninjured.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
