1 Killed, 4 Injured in Head-On Crash on Charter Oak Drive in Temple

One Killed, Four Hospitalized after Temple Crash on Charter Oak Drive

Temple, Texas (October 21, 2023) – One person was killed and four other people were injured in a head-on collision in Temple on Friday night, according to the Temple Police Department.

The deadly car crash happened at about 7:18 p.m. Friday, October 20, in the 3300 block of Charter Oak Drive.

Police said a 17-year-old man was driving southbound on Charter Oak when, for unknown reasons, his pickup truck veered into the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with a northbound Ford Expedition.

The 17-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

The occupants of the Ford Expedition, an adult woman and three children, were transported to Baylor Scott and White Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
