Dalhart Man Dies in Coleman County Car Accident on Highway 153

Coleman County, Texas (August 1, 2019) – A Dalhart man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Coleman County, according to a local news source.

The crash, which was reported at about 1:09 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, happened on Highway 153, about 8 miles west of Coleman.

As per the report, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason on Highway 153 in a no-passing zone on a hill just west of the westernmost entrance to Hords Creek Lake. One of the vehicles, occupied by the Dalhart man, rolled over and landed upside down in the ditch on the north side of the road.

The Dalhart man, who was the sole occupant of the car, died in the crash. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

The occupants of the other vehicle, a mother and her 8-year-old son, sustained minor injuries and were both treated at the scene. But did not require hospitalization.

Authorities are investigating the crash.
