Arlington, Texas (November 21, 2023) – One person was killed and another was arrested Monday morning following a three-vehicle crash in Arlington, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 9:08 a.m., November 20, in the 3900 block of West Division Street.

Police said 44-year-old Guerrero Madrid Salgado, of Arlington, Texas, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado when he veered into the eastbound lanes and collided with a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. Debris from the 2011 Silverado’s truck bed subsequently struck a 2012 Toyota Camry.

The Silverado driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

Salgado was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators believe he was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He is set to be booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of intoxication manslaughter and one count of possession of a controlled substance, once he is cleared from the hospital.

The Camry driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
