2 Hospitalized after Being Struck by DART Streetcar on Houston Street Viaduct in Dallas

2 Injured in Dallas Pedestrian Accident on Houston Street Viaduct
Dallas, Texas (March 30, 2019) – Two people were struck and injured by a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) streetcar Sunday in Dallas, according to a local news source.
The accident occurred at an unknown time Sunday, March 24 on Houston Street Viaduct.
As per the report, the northbound trolley was approaching on Houston Street Viaduct while the couple was standing on the streetcar tracks. After noticing they were in the path of the streetcar with their backs to the oncoming train.
The operator of the train applied the brake and sounded the horn to get their attention, but was unable to stop or evade them in time.
The couple sustained unknown injuries and were taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Their names and condition were not immediately disclosed.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
