1 Killed in Ambulance Crash at FM 1187 and Rendon New Hope Road in Rendon

Patient Killed in Rendon Ambulance Crash at FM 1187 and Rendon New Hope Road

Rendon, Texas (May 3, 2020) – A patient was killed, and several medics were injured Friday afternoon after an ambulance was involved in a collision in Rendon, a local news source reported.

The crash happened around 4:00 p.m. May 1, at the intersection of FM 1187 and Rendon New Hope Road.

Police said a Rendon Fire Department’s Medic 26 was transporting a patient on FM 1187 when it collided with a GMC at the intersection.

The force of the impact pushed the ambulance into the bar ditch along the roadway.

The patient in the ambulance was pronounced dead at the scene.

Firefighters and medics on board the ambulance were taken to a local hospital for treatment. One of the victims had serious injuries.

The police are investigating the crash.
