Two Injured in Belton Car Crash on Water Works Road and Sparta

Belton, Texas (March 15, 2019) – Two people were hospitalized after two vehicles collided head-on in Belton on Thursday night.
DPS said the wreck happened at about 7 p.m. March 14, on Water Works Road near Sparta.
According to the report, a Mercury Mariner SUV was heading south on Water Works Road when it collided head-on with a northbound GMC Sierra truck.
The impact caused the SUV engine to be ejected and its driver trapped.
Firefighters pulled out the driver from the SUV and the victim was flown to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
The second driver was also taken to Baylor Scott by ambulance. There was no update on the extent of injuries sustained by the victims.
An investigation to find out the cause of the crash is ongoing.
