Two Injured in San Antonio Car Crash at Hunt Lane and Ellison Drive

San Antonio, Texas (July 18, 2021) – Two people were injured on Friday after a police chase ended in a crash in San Antonio, according to the police.

The crash happened on July 16, at the intersection of Hunt Lane and Ellison Drive.

Police said a 16-year-old was driving 26 mph over the speed limit as he drove toward Hunt Lane and was going in and out of traffic.

A traffic unit officer saw the juvenile, turned around, and tried to catch up with him at Ellison Drive.

The juvenile ignored the traffic stop and drove through the traffic light. He ran a traffic light at Hunt Lane and hit a vehicle that was trying to turn.

The juvenile then crashed into an electrical pole, causing him to lose control and rollover several times. He also crashed into a home. Officers eventually caught up with him, and he was taken to University Hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle that was hit by the juvenile was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

The juvenile is facing four felony charges, including evading arrest, failure to stop and render aid, and criminal mischief.

An investigation is ongoing.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
