Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on I-35 in NE Austin

One Killed in Austin Bicycle Accident on I-35 near VFW Road

Austin, Texas (October 24, 2020) – A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash Thursday night in northeast Austin, according to police.

The deadly accident happened just after 11:00 p.m., October 22, in the northbound lanes of the Interstate 35 frontage road between VFW Road and Tech Ridge Blvd.

Police said a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle, for unknown reasons, on the frontage road.

The involved driver left the vehicle on the side of the roadway and fled the scene on foot.

The bicyclist, an adult, was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.

No other information was provided.

An investigation is underway.
