2 Killed, 1 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 36 in Temple

Temple, Texas – Two people were killed and another was injured Saturday morning in a multi-vehicle crash in Temple, according to the Temple Police Department.

The fatal crash happened around 11:20 a.m., April 27, on Highway 36 just west of Highway 317.

Police said multiple vehicles were involved in the crash. During the crash, an oversized load approximately 350,000 lbs, came off its trailer and pinned a vehicle with three occupants inside.

Two passengers in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle had to be extricated and was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. It took more than four hours for the driver to be extricated.

The police are investigating the crash.
