Two Killed in Beaumont Three-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10 near Boyt Road

Beaumont, Texas (November 19, 2021) – Two people were killed Thursday morning in a head-on collision west of Beaumont, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 7:15 a.m., November 18, on Interstate 10 near Boyt Road.

DPS said a 2017 Volkswagen passenger car was traveling westbound when it struck the median barrier and traveled into the eastbound lanes, where it crashed head-on into a 2006 Ford pickup truck.

The Ford also struck an eastbound 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck.

The Ford caught fire after the crash.

Both the Volkswagen driver and the Ford driver were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The crash closed all eastbound lanes and one of the westbound lanes for several hours. The lanes were reopened around 1:00 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
