Two Killed in Grand Prairie Plane Crash near Texas 360

Grand Prairie, Texas (December 22, 2020) – Two people were killed Monday afternoon after a small plane crashed in Grand Prairie, according to authorities.

The deadly crash happened around 2:50 p.m., December 21, along the Texas 360 service road near East Mayfield Road, near a Sonic restaurant.

Authorities said the plane took off from Grand Prairie Municipal Airport and was headed northbound when it hit a utility pole near the Texas 360 service road and crashed into the ground. It struck a nearby pickup truck and caught fire.

Both people on board the plane were killed in the crash. The victims’ identities have not been released.

One person in the pickup was treated for minor injuries.

The crash closed the northbound service road between Mayfield Road and East Arkansas Lane.

The FAA is investigating the crash.
