Houston, Texas (November 22, 2023) – A 25-year-old woman was critically injured Tuesday night in a two-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the police.

The crash happened just after 11:00 p.m., November 21, on the I-10 Katy Freeway near Highway 6.

Police said the woman was driving a Hyundai Sonata when she changed lanes when it was unsafe, cutting off an 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler then crashed into the Hyundai and both vehicles ended up crashing into the HOV lane.

The woman was trapped in her car and had to be extricated. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The 18-wheeler driver, a 61-year-old, was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
