Three Badly Injured in Houston Crash at Ella Boulevard and Rankin Road
Houston, Texas (July 28, 2023) – Three people were badly injured after a police pursuit ended in a traffic crash in north Houston early Friday morning, according to police.
The officers from Humble Police Department initiated the pursuit. Houston police joined to assist at 2:50 a.m. as the pursuit headed into the city.
The chase ended after the suspects ran a red light at the intersection of Ella Boulevard and Rankin Road and crashed into a Toyota that was traveling through the intersection.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage during the collision.
One person was trapped in the Toyota and had to be extricated by firefighters. The freed victim was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.
The other two occupants of the Toyota were also transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
The two suspects who were not injured in the crash were booked into jail by Humble police.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
