Austin, Texas – Three people were killed and four others were injured early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Austin near the Tesla Gigafactory, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened around 2:24 a.m., on N FM 973 near the intersection with Platt Lane.

According to the report, two vehicles were involved in the crash.

Three people were pronounced dead at the scene. 

An adult was trapped in one of the vehicles and had to be freed. The victim was airlifted to Dell Seton Medical Center with critical life-threatening injuries. Three other people were taken by ground ambulance to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with non-life-threatening.

No additional information was available.

The crash remains under investigation.
