Three Killed in Travis County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 973 near Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park

Travis County, Texas (August 22, 2020) – Three people were killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday night in eastern Travis County, according to officials.

The fatal crash happened around 7:51 p.m., August 21, at 7221 N. FM 973, near Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park

Officials said the crash involved a Nissan Altima and a GMC Yukon. 

One of the cars caught fire after the crash.

A man in the Altima and two people in the Yukon were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released.

The crash closed FM 973 at Decker Lake Road. Motorists were urged to seek alternate routes.

The crash remains under investigation.
