Four Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Southwest Freeway at Gessner

Houston, Texas (March 10, 2022) – Four people were injured Wednesday night in a DWI crash in Houston, according to the police.

The crash happened around 10:40 p.m., March 9, at the intersection of Southwest Freeway and Gessner.

Police said a suspected intoxicated driver was driving a Toyota truck and was fleeing from a previous crash when he crashed into a Chevy Tahoe occupied by a mother and her two children.

The impact caused the Tahoe to flip up onto its side, trapping the mother and her children.

Bystanders and the Harris County Precinct 5 constable deputies rescued the children while the mother had to be rescued by the Houston firefighters.

The mother, her children, and the Toyota driver were taken to the hospital for treatment.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation
