Comal County, Texas (July 2, 2021) – Two people were injured Wednesday night in a two-vehicle crash involving a Comal County Sheriff’s Office unit in Comal County, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened around 3:40 p.m., June 30, at the intersection of FM 3159 and FM 311.

DPS said a CCSO sheriff’s deputy had been called to assist another deputy on a traffic stop, and while approaching the intersection with lights and sirens, the deputy came to a stop before going through the intersection.

A blue Toyota Highlander was traveling at a high rate of speed and collided with the deputy’s unit.

The deputy and the Toyota driver were taken to the hospital, where the deputy was treated and released. The condition of the other driver was not disclosed.

The DPS is investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
