7-Year-Old Boy Riding Bicycle Hit by Vehicle on College Hills Blvd in San Angelo

7-Year-Old Boy Injured in San Angelo Bicycle Accident on College Hills Boulevard at W Avenue N

San Angelo, Texas (May 21, 2020) – A 7-year-old boy was injured in a bicycle accident Wednesday evening in San Angelo, according to police.

The crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. May 20, on College Hills Boulevard at W Avenue N.

Police said the boy was riding his bicycle across the street when he was hit by a Chevy Suburban.

The boy was taken to the hospital with severe injuries. He was supposed to be airlifted to a second hospital, but the flight was canceled due to bad weather.

The Suburban driver, Jesus Martinez, 25, was arrested and charged with intoxication assault. He was under the influence of an illicit substance at the time of the accident, police said.

Devante Carson, 25, who was a passenger in the Suburban, was charged with possession of marijuana.

Additional charges are pending.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call dispatch at 325-657-4315.

Police also asked for anyone with a Ring (doorbell camera) or surveillance video in the 1600 or 1700 block of College Hills to also call dispatch.
