At Least 2 Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on North Freeway in Houston

At Least Two Hospitalized after Houston Crash on North Freeway

Houston, Texas (May 31, 2022) – At least two people were sent to a hospital following a wrong-way crash early Sunday morning in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

At about 3:02 a.m. on Sunday, May 29, officers responded to reports of a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on the North Freeway.

Upon the arrival, the officers found at least three vehicles, including a red sedan, involved in a crash.

The wrong-way driver was trapped inside the red sedan and had to be extricated by firefighters. He was then taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

Authorities located another vehicle on the feeder road. The occupant of that vehicle was also taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

A third vehicle was found a few 100 yards on the freeway. It was not immediately known how many people in that vehicle were hospitalized.

No further details about the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
