Anand Lakhram Injured in 2-Car Accident on Interstate 45 in Angus

Anand Lakhram Injured in Fatal Interstate 45 Crash near Angus
Angus, Texas (April 11, 2019) – A man was killed and one other person was injured Wednesday afternoon in a traffic accident near Angus, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported.
The crash was reported at about 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 10 on the northbound side of Interstate Highway 45, about a mile north of the city of Angus.
According to the DPS, a white 2005 Volvo truck tractor hauling a white 2015 Wabash semi-trailer was heading northbound on Interstate Highway 45, in the center lane and stopped, due to construction directing traffic to merge from three lanes down to two.
A white 2017 Dodge Ram utility truck heading northbound on IH45 in the center lane behind the truck tractor, failed to control its speed and rear-ended the semi-trailer. Both vehicles then came to a rest in the center lane of IH45 after the impact.
The Dodge truck driver was taken by ambulance to Navarro Regional Hospital and was later declared dead at the hospital. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of family.
Anand Lakhram, of Winterville, North Carolina, who was the driver of the truck tractor, was taken to Navarro Regional Hospital for possible treatment.
The crash caused the closure of the northbound side of IH45 as authorities investigating the crash. There were no hazardous materials released due to the accident.
Further were not immediately provided, and the crash remains under investigation.
