Andrew Joseph Gardener, Bobbi Jeanenne Johnson, James Don Dewveall ID’d as 3 Victims Killed in Montague County Crash on Highway 81 near Indian Hills Road

Montague County, Texas (August 5, 2019) – The three people who were killed Saturday night in a head-on crash in Montague County have been identified by authorities as Andrew Joseph Gardener, 29, of Sunset, Bobbi Jeanenne Johnson, 29, of Graham, and James Don Dewveall, 72, of Azle.

The deadly accident took place at about 11:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3 on Highway 81, approximately one mile north of Bowie near Indian Hills Road.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said a car occupied by Gardener and Johnson, was traveling northbound on Highway 81 when for an unknown reason, the vehicle crossed the center median and collided head-on with a car driven by Kay Dewveall of Azle.

Gardener and Johnson were killed in the collision. Kay Dewveall was taken to JPS General Hospital with major injuries. All the victims were wearing seatbelts.

Road conditions were dry and clear.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
