Apolo Diaz Killed in Madisonville Plane Crash near Madisonville Municipal Airport

Madisonville, Texas (June 16, 2021) – According to the authorities, one person was killed and five others were injured early Monday morning in a plane crash in Madisonville.

The fatal crash happened around 1:00 a.m., June 14, near the Madisonville Municipal Airport.

Authorities said a Piper PA-32 was trying to land at the airport when it struck trees and crashed about 400 yards short of the runway.

The pilot, Apolo Diaz, of Kansas City, Missouri, was killed in the crash.

One person was taken to a Houston hospital while three others were taken to a College Station hospital. A third person was taken to a Temple hospital. The victims were listed in critical conditions.

The crash remains under investigation.

The NTSB is investigating the crash.
