Austin Buckley Killed in SE Austin Three-Vehicle Crash on SH 71 near Hwy 183

Austin, Texas (October 18, 2023) – The person who was killed earlier this month in a three-vehicle crash in Southeast Austin has been identified as 27-year-old Austin K. Buckley, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 4:44 a.m., October 5, in the 1500 block of East SH 71 westbound near the intersection with Highway 183.

Police said Ruben Ysasi, 44, was driving an SUV westbound when he crossed into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into another SUV driven by Buckley. A third SUV that was also traveling eastbound rear-ended Buckley’s car.

Buckley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ysasi was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and accident involving death.
