Man Killed in San Antonio Bicycle Accident near Castroville Road and South General McMullen; Lionel Salas Arrested

San Antonio, Texas (August 5, 2023) – According to the police, a bicyclist was killed Wednesday night after being struck by two vehicles in San Antonio’s west side.

The deadly accident happened around 9:30 p.m., August 2, near Castroville Road and South General McMullen.

Police said the man was struck by a side mirror on a truck, causing him to fall off his bicycle. Another vehicle behind the truck then ran over the man and dragged his body into a nearby gas station, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.

The driver of the second vehicle, 56-year-old Lionel Salas, was arrested after failing a sobriety test.

No other details were provided.

The police are investigating the crash.
