Bicyclist Severely Injured in Crash on Holly Road in Corpus Christi

71-Year-Old Man Severely Injured in Corpus Christi Bicycle Accident on Holly Road

Corpus Christi, Texas (December 15, 2020) – According to police, a 71-year-old man was severely injured in a bicycle accident Monday morning in Corpus Christi.

The accident happened around 7:30 a.m., December 14, in the 4300 block of Holly Road.

Police said a 48-year-old man was driving eastbound in the right-hand lane when he moved into the turning lane and struck the bicyclist.

The driver told officers he didn’t see the bicyclist because of the glare of the sun.

The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital with severe injuries.

The driver was cited for changing lanes when it was unsafe.

The police are investigating the crash.
