Blade Barker Killed, Naomi Tolbert Injured in Donley County Train Crash on Kearney Street

Donley County, Texas (October 20, 2023) – One person was killed, and another was injured Wednesday afternoon in a train crash in Donley County, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 3:00 p.m., October 18, at the Kearney Street crossing.

Authorities said two vehicles were traveling northbound when they went around the crossarms. The first car crossed safely, and the second car was struck by a westbound BNSF train.

The driver of the second car, 70-year-old Naomi Tolbert of Clarendon, was transported to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo and later transferred to University Medical Center in Lubbock. His brother, 58-year-old Blade Barker, also of Clarendon, was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
