Brayan De La Rosa Arrested in Fatal Carrollton Hit-and-Run Crash at Marsh Lane and Dove Creek

Carrollton, Texas (November 23, 2022) – According to the police, a man has been arrested in connection to the hit-and-run accident that left a mother of eight dead in October in Carrollton.

19-year-old Brayan De La Rosa was arrested on Monday, November 21.

The deadly crash happened on October 24, at the intersection of Marsh Lane and Dove Creek.

Police said a red Camaro lost control and hit a vehicle occupied by 43-year-old Aurora Canales and her children. A third vehicle hit the other two vehicles.

The Camaro driver, De La Rosa, fled the scene after the accident.

Canales was pronounced dead at the scene. Five of her eight children were injured in the crash. Three of the children were taken to the hospital.

De La Rosa was arrested on Monday at an apartment complex in Lewisville. He was taken into custody and is being held at the Dallas County Jail and was also being detained on an immigration hold. He is facing 12 felonies; one count of manslaughter, one count of accident involving death, one count of accident involving serious bodily injury, four counts of accident involving injury, and five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The police are investigating the crash.
