Celeste Ariane Loera, Gustavo Alfredo Loera, and Juan Angel Loera Jr Killed in NE El Paso Two-Vehicle Crash at Titanic and Howard

El Paso, Texas (September 24, 2020) – The three children who were killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday night in northeast El Paso have been identified as Celeste Ariane Loera,1, Gustavo Alfredo Loera,5, and Juan Angel Loera Jr,6, according to officials.

The fatal crash occurred on September 20, at the intersection of Titanic and Howard.

Police said 28-year-old Juan Angel Loera was driving a Ford Expedition westbound on Titanic Avenue when he stopped at the intersection to turn left.

The Expedition was then struck by an eastbound 2000 Black Lincoln LS that was traveling at a high rate of speed.

The force of the impact pushed the Expedition into a rock wall while the Lincoln collided with an electrical service pole before coming to a stop.

Two occupants, possibly three from the Lincoln, fled the scene on foot.

Celeste, Gustavo, and Loera Jr were killed in the crash. Two of the children were students at Sunrise Mountain Elementary School.

A 2-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Loera and 29-year-old Raquel Angeles, who was in the front passenger seat, suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Officers said alcohol, failure to yield the right of way, no seatbelts, and speed were factors in the crash.

The Special Traffic Investigations are investigating the crash. Anyone with information about the driver or passengers of the Lincoln is asked to call the non-emergency number at (915) 832-4400 or to call Crime Stoppers at 915-566-TIPS (8477).

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Celeste Ariane Loera, Gustavo Alfredo Loera and Juan Angel Loera Jr.
