Chih Hao Tseng Killed, Tzu Lo Chen Injured in Canton Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 20 at FM 17

Canton, Texas (April 2, 2021) – According to the Texas DPS, a man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Canton.

The fatal crash was reported around 6:00 p.m., March 30, at the intersection of Interstate 20 service road and FM 17.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2018 Nissan Altima was stopped at a stop sign on I-20 northbound service road when it failed to yield the right of way while pulling into the intersection and was struck by a northbound 2018 Dodge Ram 3500. 

The Nissan driver, Tzu Lo Chen, 27, of Dallas, was taken to Christus Trinity Mother Francis – Tyler in critical condition. Her passenger, Chih Hao Tseng, 27, of Dallas, was taken to Christus Trinity Mother Francis – Canton, where he later died.

The Dodge driver, Gerald Wayne Bass, 57, of Grand Saline, was treated and released at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
