Christopher Thomas Norton Arrested in Fatal San Antonio Motorcycle Crash on O’Connor Road near Larkdale Drive

San Antonio, Texas (November 12, 2020) – The driver who was involved in a hit-and-run crash Monday morning that left a motorcyclist dead in San Antonio has been arrested, according to police.

The deadly accident happened around 5:30 a.m., November 9, on O’Connor Road near Larkdale Drive.

Police said a black SUV was traveling erratically southbound when it entered the left turn only lane and was struck on the side by a man who was riding a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound.

The SUV driver, Christopher Thomas Norton, 35, fled the scene after the accident.

The motorcyclist, Phillip Warren Snow III, 48, was taken to a local hospital where he later died. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Castle Hills police were called to the 100 block of S. Gardenview on Tuesday for a verbal disturbance between Norton and his mother. The two were arguing about the damage to the Isuzu. Officers found the Isuzu in Norton’s mother’s garage with significant passenger side damage. Someone had attempted to cover the damage with black tape. Orange and blue paint was also found under the tape, which is consistent with the Kawasaki’s paint.

Norton was arrested, and his bail was set at $40,000.

The police are investigating the crash.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Phillip Warren Snow III.

Who May Make a Wrongful Death Claim in Texas?

A wrongful death claim for a family member may be brought by spouses, children, or parents. The State of Texas also allows the estate of the deceased to bring a survival action to recover for past medical expenses and conscious pain and suffering, as well as other non-economic damages which the deceased may have suffered before death. Texas does not permit brothers, sisters, cousins, or grandparents to assert any claims for the death of a family member.

Wrongful death claims require an attorney who understands the complexity of the damages caused by a significant loss. The lawyer representing the client has the responsibility to hire the necessary experts to help prove the case.
