Clayton Craig Killed in Houston Motorcycle Crash on Southwest Freeway (US 59)

Houston, Texas – A man was killed early Sunday morning in a motorcycle crash in Houston, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 12:10 a.m., January 28, in the 2300 block of Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59).

Police said Clayton Craig, 32, was operating a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on the freeway when he abruptly changed lanes and struck a red GMC Envoy and then an exit ramp barrier.

Craig was ejected from the motorcycle onto the freeway exit ramp. A black Toyota Camry then struck the unoccupied motorcycle.

Craig was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of both the GMC and the Camry remained at the scene, were questioned and released. Neither showed signs of intoxication.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
