Coletyn R. King Killed in Borden County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 180

Borden County, Texas (November 10, 2020) – One person was killed, and two others were injured in a head-on collision Thursday morning in Borden County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 3:52 a.m., November 5, on U.S. Highway 180, ten miles east of Gail.

DPS said a Dodge Ram was traveling eastbound on the highway when it crossed the center stripe and crashed head-on into a westbound 18-wheeler.

The Dodge driver, Coletyn R. King, 22, of Hermleigh, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. His passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 18-wheeler driver also sustained injuries in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
