49-Year-Old Daniel Zamaripa Seriously Hurt in Fatal Terrell County Collision on Highway 90

Terrell County, Texas (August 31, 2019) – Daniel Zamaripa, 49, ofDel Rio, sustained major injuries in a deadly collision between two semi-trucks and a car early Tuesday morning in Terrell County, according to a local news source.

The collision took place at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, on Highway 90 east of Dryden.

Police said a 2020 International truck-tractor towing a semi-trailer was traveling westbound on the highway when the driver failed to maintain a single lane and sideswiped and oncoming 2016 Freightliner towing a semi-trailer.

The Freightliner then overturned and collided with a westbound 2008 Chevy Denali.

The driver and passenger in the Freightliner were both killed in the crash.

The driver and passenger in the International were not injured.

Zamaripa, who was a passenger in the Chevy, was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center, in San Antonio with incapacitating injuries. The driver was treated for minor injuries.

The crash remained under investigation.
